COMMENTS:
The thing I loved most about the plot in this short film , based on a short story by Carlos Ruiz Zafónes, is that it could be told without any dialogue. In the beginning a lot of my short films were made as silent films with just music. This greatly enhanced the mood of the film since such a storytelling method allows for the atmosphere to build up and the plot elements to be interpreted by the viewer. Julia Canning and Geoffrey Wale did a great job subtly conveying the underlying emotions of their characters. We shot digitally for a Kino screening but I prefer this version shot on grainy Super 8 film.
